In the past year, CMV Canada has made strides in supporting families affected by congenital CMV and raising awareness about this often-overlooked virus. Our commitment to advocating for early screening, providing resources, and fostering a strong community has resulted in significant growth and accomplishments.

Here’s a quick look at the impact we’ve made in 2024:

  • Raised Over $350,000 to Support Our Mission
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, sponsors, and fundraising efforts, CMV Canada raised over $350,000 in 2024. These funds have been instrumental in helping us provide educational resources, enhance our outreach programs, and advocate for universal screening for congenital CMV across Canada.
  • Parent Database Grows to 65+ Families
Our growing parent database now includes more than 65 families, each of whom is a vital part of our mission. By offering a network of support and shared experiences, we’ve helped families navigate the challenges of living with congenital CMV, empowering them to share their stories and advocate for change.
  • Distributed 1,200+ Parent Handbooks
The Parent Handbook is a crucial resource for families learning to cope with a CMV diagnosis. This year, we distributed over 1,200 handbooks, providing essential information on managing CMV and connecting families with valuable resources. Our continued efforts to make these handbooks available to families nationwide ensure that no one has to face the journey alone.
  • Circulated 750+ Brochures to Healthcare Providers
We reached over 750 healthcare providers with our brochures, aiming to educate doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals on the importance of congenital CMV screening. Through these outreach efforts, we’re fostering better-informed healthcare practices and advocating for early detection and intervention.
  • Engaged with 15,500+ Individuals on Social Media
Social media remains a powerful tool in spreading awareness. In 2024, we connected with more than 15,500 individuals, sharing information, offering support, and engaging in meaningful conversations about congenital CMV. Our online presence continues to grow, and we’re proud to see the positive impact it has on raising awareness across Canada.
  • Reached 1,800+ Subscribers with Our Newsletter
Our newsletter now reaches over 1,800 subscribers, providing updates, success stories, and the latest news about our initiatives. It’s a valuable resource for staying informed and engaged with our community.
  • Received 5,000+ Website Views
With over 5,000 website views in the past year, our online platform remains a go-to resource for families and healthcare providers seeking information on CMV. From educational content to support services, our website continues to be a central hub for resources and advocacy.

As we reflect on this year’s achievements, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported CMV Canada’s mission. Together, we’re making a real difference in the lives of families affected by congenital CMV, and we’re more motivated than ever to continue our work in the year ahead. Thank you for being part of this important journey!
